Here at WinWin, we’re all about the road less travelled. Here are some suggestions to help you veer off the tourist trail.

Sometimes the best memories from a trip are created at the places you stumble upon — little pockets of magic that you can return to again and again. This is a list of destinations — ones away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist hotspots — but still quintessentially London.
London view:
Instead of the cash and queues at the London Eye, grab the fixings for a picnic and head to Hampstead Heath for a lovely relaxed vista across London from the North.

Customise your shopping:
Avoid Oxford St… and while you’re at it, ditch the big touristy markets. Instead, find your shopping ‘niche’ – whether it be Brixton Village, Spitalfields market, the eateries at Angel, or the cute boutique-lined Marylebone High Street.
Theatre buff:
Instead of spending tons on a West End show, hook a £5 ticket at the Globe and experience Shakespeare like they did way back when – standing, and exposed to the elements!

Tres cheeky day trip:
Looking to venture outside of London? Skip Stonehenge, add an extra half hour to your travel time, and catch the Eurostar to Paris.
Awe-inspiring:
Skip the rounds (and rounds) of traditional galleries, and instead, head to the Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall for a rush of culture and inspiration.

Pay respects:
Instead of the Tower of London, educate yourself on the city’s history (and cross paths with some famous novelists, artists and political activists) by paying a visit to Highgate Cemetery.
